If anybody is trying to get hold of Paul or Lesley there is another funding deadline fast approaching. Enough said.

Pat is about to direct a new play 'Love me Love my Dog' at the Hen
& Chickens Theatre in Islington
and over Christmas she is directing
a new kids musical 'Goblins Don't Scare Us'
at the New End Theatre in Hampstead where Jerry Hall is currently strutting her stuff! She looks forward to doing something Sensational in between!!!

Thursday 10 October 2002

Team Sensational members find out that the last film they all worked on together, the short 'FOOTSTEPS', is to be shown at Raindance on the 26th October. Director: Julian Bushell, Producer: Kate O'Hearn,
DP: Lesley Syme, Camera Ass/Lighting: Eddie Taylor, Pizza Boy/Sleeper/Set Entertainer: Paul Robinson. Well done Julian & all the cast & the rest of the crew, hope you all get the success you're hard work deserves!
Check out www.raindance.co.uk for details from 14th October.

Emma has the first official screening of her new film 'Cupboard Love' in Soho. See www.sixfoothighfilms.com for film details. It is a Winner!

Monday 7 October 2002

Paul and Emma were seen schmoozing at the NPA finance & networking evening. Paul spends the evening begging for money and bending the ear of NPA, CEO David Castro. Whilst Emma slinks off to move and shake with the 'Slap her she is French' cast and crew at the After Party. (Emma, I thought you were ill?)

Saturday 5 October 2002

The Blaine Brothers entertain more success with 'Making Juice: The Making of Juice' in Johnny Oddball's Guerrilla Filmmakers 48 hour film challenge. See www.charlieproductions.co.uk for the full story.

September 30th 2002

Pat is back on the Monarch of the Glen trail. She is editing the dance sequence that she choreographed with Gosford Park scribe Julian Fellowes.

Website maintenance was handed over to Lesley today as Farhan heads off to university.

September 27th 2002

Not entirely happy with their strand Lesley and Farhan had a day long meeting where they discussed the shortcomings in the subject matter. They spent the afternoon brainstorming and storyboarding alternatives. Until by pure genius (okay by sheer chance) they hit upon the missing ingredient that made their story work.

Want to know what it is? You'll have to watch the movie.

September 26th 2002

Paul contacted the local press in South London to generate some interest in what film-makers in the area are doing.

September 25th 2002

The Blaine Brothers had their film Burnt Bernard, screened at Shoreditch and on the same night had it accepted in the Californian film festival.

September 24th 2002

Paul is preparing funding applications to regional bodies. What he needs is a completed script, directors' treatments, a budget and a completed movies that the directors have made. So not much really.

September 23rd 2002

Farhan rewrote the draft that he and Lesley are to direct. The whole subject matter was changed to a new storyline based upon the team's discussions .

Emma returned from Greece where she had been training to dive unaided (without breathing apparatus) with the Russian diving team.

September 19th 2002

Lesley and Farhan's strand of the script was rewritten, it's now going through redrafts to strengthen the plot and characterisation.

September 18th 2002

Today Farhan meet with the Blaine Brothers in Brixton, to rewrite and storyboard their strand of the script. We came up with a new angle on the original story and discussed shooting teams and schedules.

Afterwards we went to the Premier of Road to Perdiditon and rubbed shoulders (from a distance) with Tom Hanks, Sam Mendes and Kate Winslett.

September 16th 2002

Team Sensational meet up for a progress meeting. We planned out the first shoot, which we aim to shoot in the coming weeks. We're still pushing ahead with funding but are going to start shooting regardless.

September 13th 2002

Lesley and Farhan sent off their 90 second films for the Brief Encounters festival to be held later this year!

September 12th 2002

Lesley, Paul and Farhan had a meeting regarding funding and how to find it and how to use it. We came up with a plan and now are putting it in action.

September 10th 2002

Pat spent the day filming on the impressive estate in 'Glenbogle' for 'Monarch of the Glen'. She choreographed a tango for Susan Hampshire (Molly) and Julian Fellowes (Killwillie).

They danced up a storm and inbetween takes Pat chatted to Julian about script writing! As he is now the hottest property in Hollywood after winning an Oscar for his first screenplay, Gosford Park... she feels sure some of the magic has rubbed off on her! Look out for the dancing in episode 9!!!

September 7th 2002

Lesley, Kate and Farhan had a group discussion regarding an alternative story for one of the strands. From the discussion we found out what story lines didn't work and made clear what this particular strand will try to achieve.

September 6th 2002

Spent the day researching the project, investigating tabloid's stories, the language used.

September 5th 2002

Various members of the team worked together to shoot a short at the Barbican. It was the first time this group had worked together and worked together well they did.

September 4th 2002

Jami, Matt and Farhan went to set up shots for a short film shoot for tomorrow at the Barbican. Most of the week had been spent preparing this shoot. Storyboards were developed over a few drinks afterwards. The evening was spent getting equipment from Paul's and Julian's, who kindly offered their help.

August 30th 2002

The core Sensational team meet with our production assistant Jami, who Paul and Farhan met in Edinburgh and three of the other directors Pat, Emma and Ben.

Despite a lot of Pizza and Alcohol we managed to discuss issues regarding shooting and logistics and managed script development. By the way Paul is an excellent cook, no, really!

August 29th 2002

Made final preps for tommorow's meeting with five of the seven directors.

August 28th 2002

Had a development meeting with the core sensational team. We decided upon which strands each director would be doing.

We also threw out one of the stories that we had been reworking since the beginning. We swapped it with a new story and brainstormed different scenarios. We came up with an idea and set out an outline for the new scene.

August 27th 2002

E-mailed the latest draft of Senstional out to all the directors. Aiming to set up a meeting later this week.

August 26th 2002

Farhan & Paul in EdinburghAfter hectic days in Edinburgh we headed
back to London, with a plan of action.

August 25th 2002

Started the afternoon off watching another play called '100' which featured Matt Boatwright, who
we had all worked with before on 'Footsteps'. After the play we met Jami Chan who's coming on board as a production assistant.

Went to the Award ceromony and managed to get tickets to the European Premier of the Robin Williams and Al Pacino movie 'Insomnia'. Onto the closing party where we met even more people!

August 24th 2002

Had a morning off films and took a quick tour of Edinburgh. Went to the Fringe to see 'We don't talk anymore' a play directed by one of our
d
irectors Pat Garrett.
Before watching 'The Last Great Wilderness'
and 'One hour Photo' spoke to Pat about her play and Sensational.

August 23rd 2002

We went to a Producer's seminar hosted by Media Desk, saw the documentaries 'It kinda scares me' and 'Breathe Control' and the feature 'Changing Lanes'.

We went to a party held for the cast and crew of 'The Last Great Wilderness' and then onto Bongo where some of the people from 'Breathe Control' were.

August 22nd 2002

Part of team Sensational are off to Edinburgh as the others hold down the fort and keep the operation running.

Before that we launched the website at 03:30, before Paul flies at 06:30 from Gatwick and Farhan sets off in the afternoon.

After watching the film 'Out of Control' we went to the delegate center, meet many people including the director and cast of 'Out of Contorl', which went on to win the audience's award.

August 21st 2002

More modifications to the site, Paul spent the day running around making final preps for Edinburgh trip, including getting the business cards and a haircut!

Sensational business cards!August 20th 2002

Met makeup artist David Baynes in Streatham, took the guys out for a drink, told them about the project and viewed their work.

Got the business cards for Edinburgh designed by Lesley and e-mailed to the printers at 01h13.

Registered web page, got confirmation e-mail at 23h00, saying that it may take 96 hours to get the site up to full speed. Bit of a problem seeing as we've put the site address and e-mail address on the business cards to go to Edinburgh with us. We'll need to get someone to upload the pages up while we're away.

August 19th 2002

Met a couple of musicians who wrote the score on another movie made in the group. Had a team meeting where we discussed what needs to be done in Edinburgh.

Farhan met a director who'd be interested in making his short 'be careful what you wish for' next Friday 30th August.

August 15th 2002
